Individual Study Plans: Distance Learning and Face to Face Instruction
Teachers utilize Schoology as a Learning Management System (LMS) to provide students with twenty-four hour access to course materials, lesson plans, and grades. Students can sign on to this interface from a computer connected to the internet both at school and at home.
Edgenuity is an online learning platform with robust learning plans to support student learning on campus or at home. This learning modality allows students to work at their own pace on a learning paln designed to meet their individual needs.
LESSONS ARE RELEVANT
Teachers utilize instructional design strategies to create meaningful lesson plans which relate to the life experience of the students. This approach to curriculum is intended to maximize the potential for student engagement and connect to career or college study options. Students are invited to contribute to the classroom experience by collaborating with peers, working in small groups, and participating in class discussion.
HOUR OF CODE @ NEWMARK
For their science, art, and government classes in December, thirty NCHS students participated in the Hour of Code 2019 and earned certificates to honor their hard work. During Computer Science Week, Newmark students learned how to write computer programs using JavaScript. We hope it will spark interest in students to keep learning.

"Over 100 million students worldwide have tried an Hour of Code. The demand for relevant 21st-century computer science education crosses all borders and knows no boundaries."
Why is it important? Technology is transforming every industry on the planet. We know that regardless of what our students do, whether they go straight into a career or go to college, knowing how to build technology will give them confidence and a competitive edge.
